Annual Homes Sales Up Almost 25 Percent

Newport Beach, CA, February 20, 2016 —- Anyone who seeks proof that the Orange County coastal real estate market is strong and thriving need look no further than the Newport Beach office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

“Just-released figures show that our 230-agent office’s 2015 sales volume was up 24.8 percent over 2014,” said Scott MacDonald, Regional Vice President for Orange County and Managing Broker for the Newport Beach branch.

“We increased sales nearly 25 percent over the already incredible sales of 2014, when we placed No. 5 among all 1,200 offices in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network nationwide,” MacDonald said. “We’ll find out at our national sales convention in March if we again achieved Pinnacle Award status, one of our company’s highest honors, placing us among the top 10 offices in the country for the fourth year in a row.”

MacDonald attributes the office’s thriving sales volume to the mix of established and newer agents he has recruited since joining the company in 2007.

“They are achieving massive success through the culture we created in this office, which is a microcosm of our Southern California brokerage,” MacDonald said. “We work together so extraordinarily well that our customers truly benefit when buying or selling a property. Because of the sharing of ideas and information, we all do better in our profession.

“What has made our agents so successful is their willingness to work together and collaborate. In a high-end market where the numbers are so big, that’s rare. To have the more mature view that this group possesses is extraordinary. We all are going to be more successful by working together.”

MacDonald points out that an important factor in all agents’ accomplishments is the office’s mentor program. It is administered by Michael Evans, who managed international operations for one of the largest real estate organizations in the world for 15 years.

“Mike is here out of passion to give back to his profession,” MacDonald said. “His mentor program is so influential, we have several people who are now in the top 10 to 20 of our agents who were brand-new a few years back and came out of Mike’s program.”

MacDonald said the office’s success is attracting agents from other firms in the Orange County market: “They have been joining our company at a rapid pace, not only because of the success of our Newport Beach group, but also because of the very popular Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties brand.

“We are looking for people who possess the integrity and ethics of our company, who have a strong entrepreneurial drive, ambition, and preferably a strong sales background. If not, we can teach them how to sell. If they bring their ambition to us, we can go great places with it.”
